NERO AS CAESAR, (50-54 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, struck under Claudius, A.D. 51, (3.60 g), obv. bare head of Nero draped to right, around NERONI CLAVDIO DRVSO GERM COS DESIGN, rev. EQVESTER-OR DO-PRINCIPI-IVVENT, in four lines on shield with vertical spear behind, (S.1918, RSC 97, RIC 79 [Claudius], Kaenel type 53 [unlisted dies]). Light toning, good very fine and rare.
