GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 241-3, (4.60 g), obv. radiate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. IOVI STATORI with Jupiter standing facing resting on sceptre holding thunderbolt, (S.8615, RIC 84, RSC 109). Extremely fine, toned with some mint bloom.
