GROUP OF SEVEN: 1939-45 Star; Atlantic Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Italy Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. J.J.Noon. M.N. on first fourth and sixth medals, the fifth and seventh medals unnamed. The named medals impressed. The first four and sixth medals swing mounted, the fifth and seventh medals loose, the seventh medal is a replica, good very fine - extremely fine.

With spare Italy Star ribbon.

The swing mounted medals were issued to Mr Noon following an application to the Department of Shipping and Transport in Melbourne, Australia on 9 November 1959. This was an arrangement that existed whereby Australia issued campaign awards to ex-pat British merchant navy veterans in exchange for the UK doing the same for ex-pat Australians. Details of the other two medals that he was entitled to became known after he had passed away, hence one of the medals is unnamed and the other medal is a replica since only the recipient or their executor can claim the original medals. Correspondence with the lot confirms his medal entitlement while serving with the Australian Merchant Navy.
