MBE GROUP OF EIGHT: The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, type 2 breast badge, Member (MBE) (Military); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star - clasp - Burma; War Medal 1939-45 with MID; Australia Service Medal 1939-45; Korea Medal 1950-53; United Nations Korea Medal 1950-53. First medal unnamed as issued, the second to fourth medals unnamed, 23895. J.B.Carter. on fifth and sixth medals, J.B.Carter. R.A.N. on last two medals. All named medals impressed. Swing mounted, ribbons aged and first ribbon with some damage, medals cleaned long ago and some with contact marks, otherwise fine - very fine.
Together with a matching set of swing mounted miniatures.
MBE (Military): LG 1/6/1953, p3013, to Chief Petty Officer Jack Broadly Carter, HMAS Condamine, for outstanding operational service in Korea.
MID: LG 16/6/1942, p2647 to Engineroom Artificer 4th Class Jack Broadley Carter, HMAS Vampire. For gallantry, steadfastness and devotion to duty when HMAS Vampire fought a night action with a superior Japanese force on 26/27 January, 1942 off Endau (Malaya). In an engineroom temperature of 140 degrees and high humidity, he remained at his station on the throttle and showed great zeal and devotion to duty under the most trying conditions and set a fine example to his shipmates.
