NAPIER FBD (FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION), 7.3.94, hand engraved in silver (40x32mm), by G.J.C. (Garibaldi J.Clarke, Napier), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed '1st Prize/Won By/Dunedin City'. Very fine.
The Fire Brigades' Demonstration was held in Napier during early March 1894, with Fire Brigades in attendance from throughout New Zealand.
The Dunedin Fire Brigade were successful in winning the 'Hose, Hydrant and Union Competition for 5 Men' on 7 March for a prize of ?15. Their total winnings in the competitions were ?60.
