M.F.F.T., fob medal, hand engraved in voided gold (9ct, 6.2g, 38x26mm), by (G.)W.Taylor (Gore), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'P.J.Whelan/1912'. Very fine.

Possibly something related to Mataura. A Percival James Whelan was a Trooper in the Otago Mounted Rifles during WWI (9/533).
