WAKANUI METHODIST CHURCH, presentation key, 1938, handcrafted in gold (9ct, 10.6g, 52x22mm), no maker, pin-back, reverse inscribed 'To Mrs F.Frampton/From the Architect/Wakanui Methodist Church Opening/19-11-38'. Extremely fine.

The present church was built in 1938 at a cost of ?790.
Its predecessor had something of a chequered history having been removed lock, stock and barrel from Seafield after the congregation there failed to pay back a loan from the church management for its construction in 1878.
