ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY OF AUSTRALASIA, Instd. A.D. 1874, struck in bronze (38mm), by C.Turner D. J.Hogarth F. (Sydney), reverse inscribed 'Van Mollier/30th Decr./1886'. Remnants of glue on obverse, otherwise very fine.

Van Mollier, aged 35 years, a lumper and seaman, saved Robert Wilson (aged seven and a-half years) from drowning at the Railway wharf, Wellington, on the 30th December 1886. Awarded a bronze medal.
