N.Z.FARMER Est.1885, N.Z. National Field Days Prototype Award, struck in brass (150mm), no maker, attached to wooden base (225x175mm), medal inscribed '1974/Stafix Ltd/Nudge Flow Pump'. Extremely fine.

Plaque reads: 'Depicted on this medallion is the first plough in New Zealand. It turned the first furrow at Keri Keri, Bay of Islands, on May 5, 1820, pulled by six bullocks and guided by the Rev John Butler, who said "This day I trust will be remembered, and its anniversary kept by ages yet unborn". The NZ Farmer, its proprietors, editor and staff, hope that the prototype for which this medallion has been awarded will also make a valuable contribution to New Zealand farming.'
