PAPAKAIO, handcrafted in gold (15ct, 8.8g, 32x26mm), by W & Co., ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'The Great War/1914-1918/A Token of Honour To/No.24/614/Rflm.Thos.Whyte/From/Papakaio Residents/On His Return From Active/Service/1915-17'. Rifle tip broken off at top, otherwise very fine.

24/614 Rflm Thomas Henry James Whyte, B Company, NZRB, 2nd Battalion, embarked from New Zealand 9 October 1915.
