WAIMATE PLAINS, stock medal in gold (9ct, 7.9g, 29x29mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'N.Z./1919', reverse inscribed 'W.P.P.S./C.H.M.Allison/11/489'. Very fine.

Attached to an original name tag from the Waimate Plains Patriotic Society, marked 'Deceased Soldiers' and addressed to 'C.H.M.Allison/C/o Mrs Hobday, Manaia'.

11/489 Sgt Cecil Howarth Malbon Allison, Main Body, Wellington Mounted Rifles, embarked from New Zealand 16 October 1914, Died of Wounds, Palestine, 9 December 1917.
