N.Z.R. (New Zealand Railways), Member of Parliament Free Pass, c1890s, struck in gold (probably 9ct, 6.6g, 23mm), by S.Kohn (Wellington), ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'M.L.C.' (Member of Legislative Council). Very fine and very rare.

The Legislative Council was the Upper House of the General Assembly, it was established on 1 July 1841 and disbanded on 31 December 1951.
