JAPAN, WWII, officer's shin gunto katana, single edge curved steel blade, bronze floral decorated tsuba, with decorated silver plated habaki, the tsuka (handle) with cut-out pattern leather over previous damaged cover, the button holding the handle to the tang could not be removed so any maker's details on the tang are unknown, with painted steel scabbard, this with regulation military bronze fittings including a suspension loop which has a chain hanger, metal clip and leather belt strap fitted. The leather strap broken, the blade with small edge chips and surface marks, otherwise very good.

Licence to own required in State of Victoria, Australia.
No mail out for this lot, collection only from the Sydney Office, or buyer to make own arrangements.
