Gerald O'Brien, engineer, age 21, born at Golspie, Goulburn, NSW; Enl.08Oct1917 at Newtown, Sydney, NSW; to Private 25Oct1917; to Engineer Reinforcements as Sapper 01Nov1917; Emb.22Mar1918; to 9th DUS (Depot Unit of Supply); to France 02Feb1919; RTA 01Aug1919; Disch.16Oct1919; Died while working as a railway shunter and he appears to have been struck by a train near the Wells Street signal box at Redfern on Saturday night 08Jun1929 and was later found on the train line.
