PAIR: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1760 T/Cpl J.Cartney (sic). 10 L.H.R. A.I.F. on first medal, 1760 T-Cpl. J.Carney 10 L.H.R. A.I.F. on second medal. Both medals impressed. The first medal toned and with a few small edge bumps, otherwise good very fine.
Entitled to 1914-15 Star.
James Carney, stockman, age 30, born at Ashburnam, Cudal, NSW; Enl.06Sep1915 at Black Boy Hill, WA, in 11Rfts 10LHR; Emb.01Nov1915; TOS 3LHR 09Mar1916; TOS 4DAC 07Apr1916 and mustered as Gunner; to Temp Driver 18May1916; revert to Gunner with 24FAB, France 08Sep1916; WIA 06Dec1916, France, remained on duty; TOS 12FAB 25Jan1917; various hospitalisations; to T/Cpl 08Apr1919; RTA 14Apr1919; Disch.16Jul1919.
