ANASTASIUS I, (A.D. 491-518), gold solidus, issue of 492-507, Constantinople mint, 10th Officina, (4.46 g), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust three-quarter face to right, holding spear and shield, around DN ANASTA SIVS PP AVC, rev. Victory standing left holding long cross, around VICTORI A AVCCC I exergue CONOB, star in right field, (S.3, DOC 3i, SB 3, MIBE 4a). Attractive patination with letter highlights, good extremely fine, rare.

Ex CNG Triton XX, January 9, 2017 (lot 949) coming from the Goldman Collection, purchased from Heritage Auction 3015, 7 September 2011, (lot 23393).
