MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 17, (5.16 g), Uncertain Macedonian mint (Amphipolis), issued c.325-310 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. above B A, above a bow and quiver, below a club to left, in exerque a branch to left, (S.6742, Price 377, BMC 377a-e, SNG Cop. 1028, Hunterian 334). Delightful brown patina, extremely fine/ good very fine, rare.
