MACEDON, Philip V, (221-179 B.C), silver didrachm, Pella or Amphipolis mint, (8.41 g) issued c.200-179 B.C., obv. Diademed head to right, rev. club to right, **BASILEWS FILIPPOU* above and below, monogram in upper field and **DI* and **SI* monogram to right in lower field; all within oak wreath; trident to outer left, (S.6792, Boston MFA 718; Mamroth, Philip, 22; HGC 3.1, 1059). Slight uneven patination on reverse, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
