MACEDON, as Roman protectorate, (c.90-75 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.53 g), Thessalonica Mint, obv. head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon and flowing hair, MAKE**DONWN*, **Q* behind, rev. AESILLAS / Q above, club between money chest and quaestor's chair, all within olive wreath, (S.1463, BMC 81-83, cf.SNG Von Post 50-1). Grey tone, reasonably well centred, good very fine and scarce.
