ATTICA, Athens, silver tetradrachm, (c.165-42 B.C.), 36mm, (16.78 g), New Style coinage, with the monograms or names, issue struck 182-181 B.C., (revised to 150-149 B.C.), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing a triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a Pegasos in flight to right above the raised earpiece, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, on amphora, A-**Q*E to left AM/M**W*, and to right **DIO*, to left a kerchnos, no letter on amphora, all within olive wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 96x [with the same obverse die]). Struck on a broad flan, good very fine and very rare, the dies unpublished.

Ex CNG Auction Sale December 7, 1994 (lot 1294 part).
No examples known with these combination of dies. Thompson knows of only 26 tetradrachms from this date with 8 obverse and 21 reverse dies.
