ATTICA, Athens, (c.165-42 B.C.), silver drachm, 20 mm, (6.36 g), 'New Style', Eche... and Glau..., magistrates, issued c.138/7, obv. Head of Athena to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a palmette and a griffin on the bowl, rev. A**QE / ECE / GLIAU* in right and left fields, owl standing facing on Amphora; to right the facing bust of Helios, all within wreath, (S.. Thompson 307a [same dies], HGC 4, 1635 [R]). Nearly very fine and very rare, the reverse struck slightly off centred.

Note the unusual heavy weight of the drachm.
