SYRIA, Kingdom of, Alexander I Balas, (150-145 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.81 g), undated issue, Antioch on the Orontes Mint, obv. diademed head of Alexander I to right, dotted border, rev. naked Apollo Delphos seated to left, on an omphalos, holding an arrow in extended right hand and resting a bow in his left hand, on either side **[BA]SILE[WS] ALEXAND[ROU] QEOPATOROS EUERGET[OU]*, in exergue **[ADR]* and uncertain monogram, (cf.S.7035, SC 1813). Surface pitting, heavy scratches on reverse, nearly very fine.
