LUCIUS VERUS, (161-169 A.D.), AE sestertius, 29mm, (24.32 g), obv. DIVVS VERVS, bare head of Divus Lucius Verus right, rev. CONSECRATIO, four-tiered funeral pyre, decorated with garlands and surmounted with facing quadriga, (S. 5208, RIC III (Marcus Aurelius) 1266, MIR 18, 27-6/10 (Aurelius), Banti 74). Even brown patination, with minor hoard adhesions on the obverse, otherwise very fine and rare.
