ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 221, (2.68g), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P IIII COS III P P, Victory hovering left, between two shields, holding garland in each hand, open skirt, small shields each side of the skirt, (S.7535, RIC 45, RSC 195a). Brilliant and delightful and well centred, good extremely fine, very scarce.
