WEATHERSTONES, appreciation fob medal, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 5.6g, 28x28mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'To/J.K.Simpson/From His/Friends in Weatherstones/10th Feb 1892'. Fine.

Weatherstones is a small settlement near Lawrence in Central Otago. From some research it is probable that J.K.Simpson was one of the proprietors at the Weatherstones brewery (now an historic site) at the time.
