GOLD MINING BROOCH, late 19th Century, 'New Zealand', handcrafted in gold (9ct, 2.9g, 48x25mm) and set at each end with an amethyst, no maker, pin-back. Fine.

Whilst brooches of this ilk are sometimes seen from South Africa or Australia a New Zealand made piece is very rare.
