BIG BROTHER BILL'S FAMILY, 4YA (Dunedin), c1930s, badge in brass and enamel (30mm), no maker, pin-back. Very fine.

Big Brother Bill (Pastor William David More) presented a childrens session on Dunedin radio 4YA in the 1930s. Initially broadcasts were made on Thursday and Friday evenings but eventually became a nightly programme, seven days a week. Big Brother Bill was assisted by Anita Oliver (Aunt Anita). In a 1970 interview an elderly Pastor More recalls organising yearly picnics for his audience to the bottom of the Kilmog Hill, near Dunedin. One year 6,000 children attended.
