MCDERMOTT CUP COMPETITION 1917-18, hand engraved in silver with gold overlay (33x31mm), by J.Bros (Jones Bros, Auckland), ring top suspension, obverse, crossed rifles (Scr.719), reverse inscribed 'McDermott Cup Comp./1st/Cdt W.L.Young/No.8 Coy. S.C.'. Very fine.

The McDermott Cup for rifle shooting was competed for by cadets in the Auckland district.
