Lady Bledisloe was The Hon Bertha Susan Lopes, daughter of Henry Charles Lopes, 1st Baron Ludlow by Cordelia Clark. She married Charles Bathurst, 1st Viscount Bledisloe GCMG KBE PC (21 September 1867 - 3 July 1958), a British Conservative poltician and colonial governor. They were Governors of New Zealand from 1930 to 1935.
