H.M.A.S. Hobart pennant, type 1 in blue felt with coloured printing (approx 270x620cm), features ship's crest and WWII battle honours including Tokyo (spelt Tokio) surrender in August 1945. Several small moth holes, otherwise nearly extremely fine.

HAMAS Hobart, the Australian light cruiser, was one of the ten RAN ships in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese emperor agreed to surrender on 15 August 1945 after atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and Russia declared war on Japan.
