EDWARD THE CONFESSOR, (1042-1066), silver penny, facing bust type, Norwich Mint, moneyer Eadwine, (1.06 g), obv. crowned and draped facing bust within inner circle), three horizontal folds to drapery, no pellets on breast, legend +EADPARD REX around begins at 11 o'clock, rev. small cross pattĀ£e within inner circle, pellet to right of central bar of cross, legend +EDPINE ON NORD around, (S.1183, N.830, BMC xiii). Toned, nearly very fine.
