HENRY III, (1216-1272), silver penny, short cross type, class VIIa1, Canterbury Mint, moneyer Thomas, (1.46 g), obv. crowned facing bust, three curls on either side, sceptre in right hand, small neat bust with well-marked beard of tiny strokes, legend around, A with a wide top bar, rev. short cross voided with quatrefoils in each angle within beaded inner circle, legend around, no stops by ON, (S.1356A, N.978). Toned, very fine - good very fine.
