PAIR: Egypt Medal 1882-89, (1882 reverse), - three clasps - Tel-el-Kebir, Suakin 1884, El-Teb; Khedive's Star 1882-91, (dated 1882). 900, Pte J.Gascoigne, 1/R. Hrs on first medal, the second medal unnamed. Display mounted, the second clasp out of order, contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine.
Ex Toad Hall Medals, UK 27/7/1992.
Together with copy of First Battalion Royal Highlanders medal entitlement that shows 900 Private James Gascoigne was entitled to the Egypt Medal and clasp for Suakin. The medal entitlement page also shows that Private James Gascoigne was with the regiment at the action of El-Teb. There is no mention on this page for the action at Tel-el-Kebir for any medal recipients.
