First and last medals unnamed as issued, Captain. A.B.D.Brown. 17/Bn. A.I.F. on second medal, T/Lieut-Col. A.B.D.Brown A.I.F. on third medal, T-Lt-Colonel A.B.D.Brown. A.I.F. on fourth medal. All named medals impressed. Display mounted, very fine - extremely fine.

DSO: Second Supplement to LG 3/6/1918, p6461; CAG No.173, 7/11/1918, p2110 to Major Arthur Balfour Douglas Brown for services rendered in connexion with military operations in France and Flanders.
MID: Second Supplement to LG 2/1/1917; CAG No.103, 29/6/1917 to Major Balfour Douglas Brown, mentioned in despatches by General Sir Douglas Haig GCB, Commander-in-Chief of the British Armies in France, for distinguished and gallant services and devotion to duty while serving under his command. (Note that Major Brown submitted a statutory declaration that stated that he was appointed under the name of Balfour Douglas Brown but his correct name was Arthur Balfour Douglas Brown.)
