GROUP OF FOUR TO DIED IN SERVICE: 1939-45 Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. NX57024 H.Trist. All medals impressed. Display mounted, contact marks on last three medals, otherwise good very fine.

The soldier's service file indicates that the above is full medal entitlement and the medals were despatched to his mother on 27Aug1952.

Harry Trist, ward cleaner, born 11Mar1913 at Goulburn, NSW; Enl.10Jul1940 at Paddington, Sydney, NSW; his NOK was his mother in Lodge Gate, Long Bay Penitentiary, Sydney, NSW; posted to AAMC Rec Coy 10Jul1940; TOS R.R.D.AAMC and appt'd Spec. Group III 05Aug1940; appt'd Spec. Group II 27Sep1940; admitted to 2/3 C.C.S. for circumcision 23Oct1940; rejoined unit 04Nov1940; Emb.26Dec1940; to Greece 07Mar1941; to 2/3 C.C.S. with appendicitis 03Jan1942; rejoined unit 27Jan1942; to 2/3 C.C.S. again 29Jan1942; rejoined unit 03Feb1942; to 2/3 C.C.S. with pharyngitis 29Apr1942; rejoined unit 02May1942; Died of natural causes at 2/3 C.C.S. in Syria 19May1942; buried at Beirut War Cemetery, Beirut, Lebanon.
