SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochos IV, (175-164 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.20 g), Series II, Antioch Mint, issued 173/2-169/8 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos IV to right, filleted border, rev. Zeus seated left on throne, holding Nike, on right, **BASILEOS ANTIOXOU*, to left **QEOU EPIFANOU[S]*, **DI* exergue, (S.6977, SC 1397a, ACNAC Houghton CSE 194, Newell SMA 54, SNG Israel I [Spaer] -, HGC 9, 619). Lightly patinated good very fine, a rare variety.
