ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE as, (12.52 g), Rome Mint, issued A.D. 140, obv. head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG [PIVS] PP rev. Mars, helmeted, naked but for cloak waving behind him, holding spear and shield, descending right through the air to Rhea Silvia, reclining left, around TR POT COS III S C, (S.4315, RIC 694a). Dark brown patina, very fine and scarce.
