ROYAL VISIT, 9th January 1954, struck in gilt, silvered and bronze (each 32mm drop), no maker, pierced with ring top, ribbon and bar with pin-back, uninscribed (M&P-). Extremely fine and extremely rare. (3)

The Royal couple were in New Plymouth on Saturday 9 January 1954 and these medals may have been issued to mark the occassion or possibly as awards for services rendered. They later flew on to Wellington.^^Unlisted in MacMaster & Purdy.
