CLUTHA & MATAU AGRICULTURAL & PASTORAL ASSOCIATION, struck in bronze (44mm), by Harrop & Neill, Dunedin (stock medal), reverse inscribed 'Clutha & Matau/1905/Awarded To/Geo. Anderson Esq./Hackney Filly/2 Years'. Toned, faint traces of mint red, some small edge nicks, otherwise extremely fine and very rare.

This medal was awarded in Section E - Thoroughbred Horses and Hackneys - to George Anderson (Stirling) for first place at the annual show of the Clutha & Matau A. & P. Society held at Balclutha on Friday 5 December 1905. These two South Island Societies were independent of each other until they amalgamated in 1886. Very few prize medals are known.
