WAITOTARA SHOW, fob medal, handcrafted in voided gold (9ct, 7.8g, 42x28mm), English maker and hallmark, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Champion/Hack/Waitotara/Show/C.Gordon's "Aberdeen"/1911'. Very fine.
The Waitotara Show and Sports Association annual show was held on 2 January 1911.^^From a press report at the time: "As became a country show, the entry of horses was the feature, and the numerous classes were well filled. The Judge, Mr Gillies, of Palmerston North, had in most cases difficulty in adjudging the winner. The general purpose farm-horse and also the hacks were a very fair and even lot. Mr C. Gordon's Aberdeen again carried off first prize in the best remount horse class."
