WAIAPU CHAMPIONSHIP, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 15.38g, 34.5x39.5mm), by Stoneham (A.Stoneham, Dunedin & Wellington), ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Waiapu Championship/Presented by/H.F.Forster Esq./Won by/T.Wilson/1929'.Very fine and rare.
This clay pigeon shooting championship was conducted by the Tolaga Bay Rod and Gun Club. Mr T.Wilson of Gisborne was the winner with 10 breaks and was presented with the prize medal by Mr H.F.Forster of Gisborne.
