Both medals impressed.; military sporting medals includes generic style struck in bronze (51mm), no maker, obverse inscribed 'No 2. O.C.B./Regatta/May 1918/2nd VIII Race/Won By/"A" Coy', reverse inscribed '6. J.O.Gough'; another generic type struck in silver (35mm), by W.W.C (William Walter Cashmore) with hallmark for Birmingham 1918, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'D. Group. N.Z.E.F./Sports/Sutton Coldfield/12-4-19/Presented by/Charles. Heeley. Esq'. The third medal with some scuff marks, otherwise very fine. (4)
Sutton Coldfield is a town in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. During WWI the Sutton Park was occupied by His Majesty's troops in various camps for training as well as convalescence and New Zealand troops were also in occupation prior to their return home.
