TRIO: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 11/1540 Tpr. G.A.Dunlop. N.Z.E.F. Impressed. Nearly extremely fine.

Together with King's Silver War badge, reverse numbered N.Z.10339; NZ Returned Soldiers Association badge in silver, obverse inscribed '11/1514 (sic)'; also WKC (Wellington Kennel Club), uniface die struck medal in gold (9ct, 5.49g, 26mm), by Denton, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed 'Port/Nicholson Cup/G.A.Dunlop/1928' (this medal was awarded to his wife, Mrs G.A.Dunlop). ^^Tpr Gordon Aitken Dunlop 31st Reinforcements, Mounted Rifles Brigade, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 13 August 1915. Discharged 10 May 1916 as no longer fit for military service. Re-enlisted on 19 September 1917 and embarked from New Zealand 13 November 1917. On 11 July 1918 invalided to New Zealand with asthma. Gordon Dunlop died at Hastings on 5 April 1963.^^Gordon Dunlop's wife, Mrs G.A.Dunlop of Wairoa, was a competitor at the New Zealand Kennel Club's show in Wellington in October 1928. Her dog, The Earl, secured a first prize and four seconds and another dog, Arran Court, won five firsts and the special prize for the best setter in the show and also won the Port Nicholson Cup for the second time in succession. The winner of the Cup was declared by the judge to be the best in Australia and New Zealand.
