PALMERSTON NORTH (MILITARY SPORTS), fob medal, uniface, in gold (9ct, 6.18g, 26mm), by J.H.R (Jno. H.Robinson, Wellington), ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'J.G.McK', reverse inscribed 'Palm. N./1908/Semaphore Signalling/D. Battery/1st'. A few areas of dark toning, otherwise very fine.

Ten thousand spectators were in attendance at the Palmerston North Show Grounds on the last day of the military sports held in November 1908. The Semaphore Signalling competition was won by D Battery N.Z.F.A. with Petone Navals second and Royal Marines third.
