NEW ZEALAND DIVISION, British Expeditionary Force, c1917, struck in bronze (45mm), by Spink, London, reverse inscribed 'Divisional Band Contest/Third Band/Pte. A.Bogle/2nd Bn. Wellington Regt'. Lacquered, otherwise good extremely fine.

WWI: 39939 Pte Alexander Bogle, 23 Reinforcements, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 14 March 1917; to 2 Bn Wellington Regiment, joined unit Band 20 September 1917; Discharged 14 June 1919; WWII: 804896 served with National Military Reserve.^^Alexander Bogle worked in business with his father, A.Bogle & Son, motor car trimmers and hood experts, Pitt Street, Wanganui. Both of his sons received Rhodes Scholarships to study at the University of Oxford in England.
