Bid at live.noble.com.au

BRITISH FORCES IN EGYPT, WWII, struck in silver (41mm), hallmarked for Birmingham 1938 by NA&AFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes), reverse inscribed 'N.Z.E.F. Rugby Championship/1941/L.B.Liddle'. Toned, nearly extremely fine.

In a contemporary case with gold blocked letters 'C.S.C.B.' on lid.^^35364 Pte Lloyd Bishop Liddle, Infantry Reinforcements, 2NZEF, died 9 November 1962 at Henderson, New Zealand from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was buried at Waikumete Cemetery, Glen Eden, Auckland in a soldier's burial plot. Interestingly, in September 1963 an act of Parliament, Liddle Adoption Discharge Act 1963, was passed to discharge an adoption order made on 25 January 1955 in favour of Lloyd Bishop Liddle of Kaeo, farmer, and Patricia Eleanore Liddle, his wife, as adopting parents of Scott Alan Liddle. Scott Alan Liddle reverted to his pre-adoption name of Alan Joseph Scott as he intended to marry Lloyda Helen Liddle, the natural and legal daughter of the said Lloyd Bishop Liddle and Patricia Eleanore Liddle and under New Zealand law this was not possible if he remained adopted.
