This was the last reception of the committee and accordingly they extended an invitation to all returned soldiers to attend. Both men were presented with the Patriotic Society's medal by President C.Kreger. Both men were assured of the district's appreciation of what they had done. Both soldiers thanked the folks for the welcome in short embarrassed speeches.^^54567 Rifleman William Handel McKenzie, Reinforcements H Company (part), NZ Rifle Brigade, embarked from New Zealand 24 July 1917.
