SHEFFIELD, fob medal, hand engraved in gold (9ct, 6.80g, 23x30mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'AMOR PATRIAE' and in the centre 'RH' (R.Halliday), reverse inscribed 'Presented/By/Sheffield/Patriotic/Committee/1915'. Toned good very fine.

14976 Pte Robert Adam Halliday, 14th Reinforcements, Canterbury Infantry Battalion, C Company, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 26 June 1916. Died of wounds on 8 July 1917 and buried at St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France.
