TEMPLETON, in gold (9ct, 8.23g, 25x25mm), by P.Ltd (Petersen, Christchurch, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'RJB', reverse inscribed 'Presented/To/R.J.Brewer/On/Leaving for the Front/From/Templeton/Residents'. Very fine.

9/1263 Tpr Reuben Joseph Brewer, 5th Reinforcements, Otago Mounted Rifles, embarked from New Zealand 14 August 1915. Served at Gallipoli and later transferred to No.1 Company New Zealand Machine Gun Company as Private 19 March 1916. Killed in action in France 19 September 1916 and buried at Caterpillar Valley (New Zealand Memorial), France.
