W.P.P.S. (Waimate Plains Patriotic Society), stock fob medal, in gold (9ct, 7.36g, 28x28mm), no maker, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed 'N.Z./1919', reverse inscribed 'W.P.P.S./D.W.Poole/11/2196'. Very fine.

11/2196 Tpr Duncan Walter Poole, 9th Reinforcements, Wellington Mounted rifles, NZEF, embarked from New Zealand 8 January 1916. Struck off strength of NZEF 17 March 1916 and returned to New Zealand as medically unfit with neuritis. He was discharged on 9 January 1917.
